The Columbia Historical Society honored Dennis Ross as Citizen of the Year 2017 at the Columbia Homecoming Celebration. A life long resident of Columbia for two generations, Dennis is a graduate of Columbia Schools and a veteran. He graduated from Kent State University with a teaching degree and later a Master's from Bowling Green. He is a retired teacher but continues to farm putting up close to 10,000 bales of hay each year and provides employment for many local high school students during the summer hay season. He has served as a board member of Columbia Township's Zoning Board. He is a former school board member of the Columbia Local School District. He has been a member of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce. He is a long standing member of the Columbia Historical Society, and Friends of the Library, and he regularly attends the Township Trustee Meetings as well as the Lorain County Trustee Association meetings. He is one of the Founding Board Members and strong supporter of the Columbia Community Foundation. Congratulations Dennis Ross!

Columbia Historical Society Fireworks Pot Luck Gathering at Bronson House Museum’s lawn ("13648 W River Rd, Columbia Station, OH 44028"). Come and watch the fireworks display with your fellow members on the historic grounds. Free and open to Columbia Historical Society members only.

Bronson House Museum ("13648 W River Rd, Columbia Station, OH 44028") Open House with free tours from 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM. If you wish to volunteer at the Bronson House Museum for any part of the day, please contact the historical society at 440-879-8188.

Columbia Homecoming Festival is being held at the Columbia Township Park (times vary each day). Columbia Historical Society will have a booth open each day. If you wish to volunteer at the booth, please contact the historical society at 440-879-8188.

Columbia Historical Society Membership Meeting at 7:00 PM (social time) and 7:30 PM (program) at Columbia Township Town Hall ("25496 Royalton Rd, Columbia Station, OH 44028"). Program includes: "Historical Medications" by Mr. Thomas Strong of Westlake. Meeting is free and open to the public.

Bronson House Museum's open house will be from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM & 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM. Special display includes: TBD. As always, the open house is free and open to the public. Stop by and say hello while learning a little bit about the 1800's!
